My ambition is to create enduring objects of a personal nature, containing real meaning for the recipient. Photographs, often portraits, are applied to sandstone and marble as well as wet clay and fired ceramics. Stone and clay forms are simple, allowing the images to take precedence. The eternal nature of stone and the permanence of fired ceramics commemorates a personal reminiscence for the recipient in a timeless piece of art.

Original Transfer Prints

Inspiration for Print Stone came from the memory of my parents; their influence, support, and encouragement. After they passed on, I created a series of commemorative portraits on stone using photos from our family archives as a way to memorialize my parents. I was looking for something unique, enduring and meaningful for myself and for the relatives who were to receive these keepsakes. Intrigued by the significance people attached to those printed stones, I began to explore other techniques for transferring visuals onto stone and clay surfaces.
